What this fixes
DNSSEC signs your DNS records so resolvers can verify they haven't been tampered with, protecting against DNS spoofing. See Enabling DNSSEC for Your Domain for what it does and why it matters.
Why you can't fix this in SiteGround
SiteGround does not support DNSSEC. Per SiteGround's own knowledge base: "DNSSEC records cannot be added or edited for domain names registered with SiteGround." This is an unconditional no — it doesn't vary by TLD, and there's no hidden setting to find in Site Tools.
What to do instead
Move DNS management to a provider that supports DNSSEC natively (e.g. Cloudflare, set up as a free DNS-only zone) while keeping hosting on SiteGround. This only changes where DNS is hosted — your website and mailboxes keep running on SiteGround unaffected. Then follow Fixing DNSSEC in Cloudflare for the actual setup steps.
Common pitfalls
- Expecting a DNSSEC toggle that isn't there — don't spend time searching Site Tools for a setting that doesn't currently exist.
- Assuming SiteGround manages your DNS by default — if your domain was registered elsewhere and only points its nameservers to SiteGround for hosting, your DNS (and any future DNSSEC move) needs to happen at that other provider, not here.
